Piaseczno City Council Bans Night‑Time Alcohol Sales

Piaseczno’s City Council approved a ban on alcohol sales between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., aiming to curb nighttime disturbances and increase residents’ safety.

Resolution Details

The council’s resolution prohibits the sale of alcohol in Piaseczno from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The measure is intended to reduce nighttime noise caused by alcohol consumption and enhance residents’ sense of security.

Mayor’s Initiative

Mayor Daniel Putkiewicz forwarded the draft resolution to the council in late September. The issue had surfaced earlier in local discussions, including a 2024 town‑hall meeting where residents noted that, after restrictions, some would travel to neighboring municipalities for purchases.

Community Support

All constituent villages (sołectwa) voted overwhelmingly in favor of the resolution, and the municipal alcohol‑problems commission also issued a unanimous positive opinion.

Regional Context

Similar regulations are under review by other local governments. Warsaw Council previously tested a night‑time alcohol restriction in two districts, while the municipality of Konstancin‑Jeziorna is consulting on a comparable measure.

Implementation Timeline

The resolution was adopted during the council session on 17 December 2025. It will enter force 14 days after its publication in the Official Gazette of the Masovian Voivodeship.
