Jarosław Kaczyński, chairman of Poland’s ruling Law and Justice party, is hospitalized in Warsaw with a non-serious infection, sources confirm.
When Will Kaczyński Leave Hospital?
Jarosław Kaczyński has been hospitalized in one of Warsaw’s hospitals due to a non-serious infection, as announced at the end of January by PiS spokesman Rafał Bochenek. Unofficial reports from “Super Express” suggest the politician has pneumonia. Sources from Kaczyński’s circle indicated that for some time he had been troubled by a cough and elevated temperature. The latest information suggests his hospitalization will soon end.
Health Status of the PiS Chairman
On the first day, the chairman was admitted to the hospital with a fever, which was quickly brought down. There was a suspicion of pneumonia. There were no updates on his health status over the weekend as doctors were unavailable, but Kaczyński has been taking phone calls. “His condition is not worsening,” said a source from the PiS chairman’s circle. “At his age, infections occur more frequently,” added another source.
Previous Hospitalization as NN Patient
In February 2025, Jarosław Kaczyński was also hospitalized. The PiS spokesman informed that the politician was undergoing “routine, previously planned examinations,” while media reports stated he was admitted to the cardiology department of the Provincial Specialist Hospital named after Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński on al. Kraśnicka in Lublin as an NN patient – a person whose identity could not be determined at that time. “Most likely, due to emotions from the facility staff, the patient was classified as NN. Upon the arrival of the head of the cardiology department, the situation was immediately clarified and changed according to the applicable procedure for admitting patients to the hospital,” said Remigiusz Małecki, press spokesman for the Marshal of the Lublin Voivodeship, at the time.
Past Hospitalization History
In 2022 and 2019, Jarosław Kaczyński was hospitalized due to knee joint endoprosthesis procedures. In 2018, he was admitted to a military hospital with an acute inflammatory condition of the knee joint, which required about a month of treatment. Two years earlier, he had undergone routine annual examinations at the Military Medical Institute in Warsaw.
