Senator Włosowicz Criticizes PiS Direction
Jacek Włosowicz, a guest on TVN24’s “Tak jest” program on Tuesday, March 17th, criticized the direction of the Law and Justice (PiS) party. He stated that PiS had originally been a conservative and orderly grouping, but is now becoming a nationalist party.
Karczewski: Włosowicz Has Already Left PiS Mentally
Stanisław Karczewski, Vice-President of the PiS club in the Senate, responded negatively to Włosowicz’s statements. He believes Włosowicz has already mentally left the PiS club and is aligned with the government opposition, merely pretending to be a Senator of the Law and Justice party.
Call to Resign from PiS Club
Karczewski stated, “Let him leave the PiS club.”

According to Karczewski, Włosowicz is not a member of the PiS party, only of the PiS Senate club. He argues that Włosowicz has consistently demonstrated differing views during important votes and questions his continued presence in the club, adding that Włosowicz will not be on the party’s electoral lists in the future.
PiS Considers Włosowicz’s Departure the Simplest Solution
Unofficially, PiS politicians suggest that Włosowicz’s departure would be the simplest solution, as the procedure for excluding a senator from the PiS club is complex, requiring a full club meeting and a vote.
Włosowicz’s Political History
Jacek Włosowicz was a member of PiS from 2002 to 2011. In December 2011, he joined Solidarna Polska – a party founded by Zbigniew Ziobro after leaving PiS. He was excluded from Solidarna Polska in 2022 and is currently unaffiliated. He ran on the PiS list in the 2023 parliamentary elections.
Lone Dissenting Vote
In February, Włosowicz was the sole member to break from the PiS club during a Senate vote on the law implementing the EU’s SAFE program, voting in favor of the law with amendments.
