On Nov. 6, Tomasz Siemoniak, coordinator of Poland’s special security services, announced disciplinary action against an ABW former deputy chief linked to a PiS birthday party.
Disciplinary Procedure Initiated
On Thursday, November 6, Tomasz Siemoniak addressed the controversy surrounding a PiS birthday party that included politicians and security personnel. He named the only former ABW deputy chief who attended—a former BBN officer who worked under President Andrzej Duda and was an ABW delegate. Because he has returned to formal service, the law bars any political activity.
Siemoniak said a disciplinary proceeding has already been opened by ABW leadership and that no service member may attend such private political events. The decision on the case will be taken in the coming weeks, and the entire context must be thoroughly investigated.
Party Guests: Former ABW and CBA Officers
The party, described as a “patriotic” celebration after the PiS programme convention, drew politicians, businessmen, and both active and former members of the CBA and ABW. Reports indicate that former ABW deputy chief Colonel Lech Wojciechowski, a former police officer, and CBA veteran Jarosław Karwel were among the attendees.
Photos of the event circulated online, prompting ABW to investigate the circumstances and clarify what transpired.
Details of the Birthday Bash
According to a late‑October report, the gathering featured party activists bringing expensive drinks and boxes of wine, creating a lavish atmosphere. The event was filmed, and images spread across the internet, leading the government to take a closer look.
