Patients seeking consultations with endocrinologists, nephrologists, or pulmonologists will be able to verify appointment availability via the central e-registration system, accessible through the Patient Internet Account (IKP), the mojeIKP mobile app, or directly at a medical facility.<\/p>\n
This initiative aims to consolidate available slots into a single database, eliminating the need for patients to contact multiple clinics individually. While online access is a primary feature, patients will retain the option to register via telephone or in person.<\/p>\n
The centralized system allows patients to search for appointment slots across a wider geographic area, potentially reducing wait times by identifying earlier openings in neighboring districts. Users can also manage, modify, or cancel their appointments through the system.<\/p>\n
A “waiting room” feature will track preferred appointments, automatically notifying or assigning slots to patients when they become available. Priority for these slots is determined by medical criteria and special eligibility, rather than strictly by the timing of the registration request.<\/p>\n
Health Minister Jolanta Sobiera\u0144ska-Grenda announced that by the end of 2027, the central e-registration system is expected to cover 39 medical specialties. Following the August 2026 expansion, the system plans to include electronic queues for planned hospital procedures.<\/p>\n
It is important to note that this system currently applies only to first-time consultations. Patients already under a specialist’s ongoing care for chronic conditions should continue to arrange follow-up appointments directly through their existing clinic, consistent with current cardiology procedures.<\/p>\n
The transition to a centralized system does not waive the requirement for medical referrals where mandated by law. Patients must still meet all eligibility criteria for a specific specialist before they can book an appointment through the portal.<\/p>\n
The system remains inclusive for all demographics, including seniors and those without digital access, by maintaining traditional registration pathways.
