With thousands of scooters contributing to 66 accidents in Warsaw in 2025 alone, the new law seeks to standardize safety protocols, including speed restrictions in high-traffic city zones and the implementation of mandatory safety gear for younger riders.<\/p>\n
Beyond scooter regulations, the Ministry is reforming the broader transport landscape. Planned changes include moving the practical driving test for category B licenses to public roads and simplifying theoretical examination databases to improve comprehension.<\/p>\n
Transport oversight will also extend to ride-hailing services. New requirements mandate stricter criminal background checks for drivers, including records from non-EU countries, while app-based platforms must verify that vehicles hold proper taxi technical inspections, insurance, and tax-compliant digital registries.<\/p>\n
