The new political entity, Unia Centrum, has been established through the merger of Paulina Hennig-Kloska\u2019s Centrum Polska association and the existing Union of European Democrats. Hennig-Kloska will lead the party, with Micha\u0142 Kobosko serving as one of the vice-chairpersons.<\/p>\n
The party, which will operate under the Union of European Democrats’ statutes, aims to serve as a foundational element of the October 15 coalition. Leaders described the initiative as a bridge between their parliamentary group and the established political environment of the European Democrats.<\/p>\n
Unia Centrum intends to promote economic development combined with environmental stewardship, rooted in the values that established Poland\u2019s post-1989 foundations. The party identifies as pro-business, pro-environmental, and pro-European.<\/p>\n
The program focuses on building a stable political environment that advocates for a responsible state, a competitive economy, and modern public services. Key pillars include the promotion of entrepreneurship, sustainable energy transition, local government empowerment, and national security.<\/p>\n
The party has adopted blue and green as its official colors to represent its core ideology. Blue signifies freedom, modernity, and economic strength, while green denotes environmental responsibility, clean air, and energy security.<\/p>\n
A formal Program Convention is scheduled for September, during which the leadership plans to unveil specific strategic objectives and further policy direction for the organization.<\/p>\n
The formation of the party follows a period of internal realignment within the political landscape. In February, Hennig-Kloska and a group of parliamentarians left Poland 2050 to form the Centrum parliamentary group following a leadership contest.<\/p>\n
The group currently consists of 15 members of the Sejm and three senators.
