Reports of a stray dog roaming the Slovak side of the Tatra Mountains first emerged on June 30. The animal was spotted at several landmarks, including Krivan, the Rysy shelter, Poprad Lake, and Strbske Pleso.<\/p>\n
The dog followed a consistent pattern, descending into the valleys at night and returning to higher tourist trails during the day. Because the dog posed a potential threat to wildlife and hikers, the “Road Home” civic association initiated efforts to capture him.<\/p>\n
