The National Health Fund has launched an audit into a municipal medical center in Piaseczno following reports that local Civic Coalition officials bypassed official queues for medical services between 2024 and 2025. <\/p>\n
Wirtualna Polska reported that the Municipal Medical Center in Piaseczno allegedly operated an informal channel for medical access alongside its official booking system. This channel was reportedly used by a group of local Civic Coalition politicians currently in power in the district.<\/p>\n
According to reports, officials secured faster access to doctors, prescriptions, referrals, and specialist consultations by contacting management directly. A receptionist employed at the facility between October and December 2024 confirmed she was instructed to register councilors without waiting in line.<\/p>\n
The journalists identified several officials allegedly using the informal channel, including City Council Chair Katarzyna Wypych, County Council Chair Krzysztof Kasprzycki, and City Councilor Piotr S\u0119dziak. All named individuals have denied the allegations.<\/p>\n
Independent Councilor Joanna Otr\u0119ba has formally requested the disclosure of the number of visits and names of individuals who may have used this privileged access. She has also called for a thorough investigation by the National Health Fund.<\/p>\n
The National Health Fund initiated an ad-hoc inspection of the Piaseczno facility on Tuesday, July 14. An official confirmed that auditors are currently examining the availability of primary healthcare services provided at the center during the 2024-2025 period.<\/p>\n
Prime Minister Donald Tusk addressed the scandal on Tuesday, expressing strong disapproval of the reported practices. He stated that such incidents involving politicians from his own party are unacceptable and pledged to eliminate these customs entirely.<\/p>\n
The government is expected to address healthcare reforms in the coming weeks, including proposed measures such as capping physician salaries at 240 PLN gross per hour and mandating stricter reporting of working hours to the National Health Fund.<\/p>\n
