The trains stopped just a short distance from each other, preventing a potential collision on the same track.<\/p>\n<h4>Cause Under Investigation<\/h4>\n<p>Piotr Hamarnik from the PKP Polish Railway Lines press team stated that the primary cause appears to be the regional train driver passing a &#8220;Stop&#8221; signal. A railway commission will conduct a formal investigation into the matter.<\/p>\n<p>No injuries were reported, and railway infrastructure remained undamaged throughout the event.<\/p>\n<h4>Previous Incidents on the Network<\/h4>\n<p>A similar occurrence took place in late August 2024 near Trzebinia, where two trains were directed onto the same track due to a driver missing a &#8220;Stop&#8221; signal. Prompt braking prevented a collision in that instance.<\/p>\n<p>Another case was reported in late March at the Gniezno station in Greater Poland.
