Former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki stated that he is clinging to Law and Justice and refuses to leave, accusing party schemers of trying to push his associates out. <\/p>\n
Mateusz Morawiecki assured that he has no intention of leaving Law and Justice (PiS), though he assessed that some activists are trying to lead to the removal of members of his “Rozw\u00f3j Plus” association from the party.<\/p>\n
Morawiecki participated on Tuesday in a meeting organized by the Gazeta Polska club in Ulina Wielka, in the Go\u0142cza commune in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship.<\/p>\n
I am holding onto Law and Justice tooth and nail, and at all costs I do not want to leave Law and Justice. Unfortunately, there are people who want to push us out of Law and Justice, Morawiecki said.<\/p>\n
He added that in PiS there are schemers who are afraid that with reduced support for the party, they may have trouble getting into the future Sejm.<\/p>\n
So I have such a request to all schemers: stop pushing us out of Law and Justice, that is what I have to say to them, the former prime minister emphasized.<\/p>\n
In a later conversation with journalists, Morawiecki declared that he is doing everything for the members of his “Rozw\u00f3j Plus” association to remain in PiS.<\/p>\n
He expressed hope that a split in PiS will not happen and emphasized that he and his followers want to build the common patriotic camp as much as possible, adding that he is conducting no talks with other parties such as PSL.<\/p>\n
Last Wednesday, the PiS leadership obliged activists under threat of party exclusion to withdraw from associations conducting political activity within the grouping, concerning inter alia Morawiecki’s “Rozw\u00f3j Plus” and MP Jacek Sasin’s “Po pierwsze Polska”. The deadline to make a decision expired on Thursday, July 23, with Sasin announcing Wednesday that his association had ended activities while Morawiecki declared he wants to stay in PiS and develop his association.<\/p>\n
Last Friday, members of Morawiecki’s association emphasized in a letter addressed to the PiS leader that their goal is party unity and reaching out again to groups that have moved away from PiS in recent years, with the letter signed by 45 PiS politicians including MPs, senators, and MEPs.<\/p>\n
In talks with PAP, politicians from Morawiecki’s association who signed the letter emphasize that talks between representatives of Jaros\u0142aw Kaczy\u0144ski and Morawiecki are still ongoing and there is no passive waiting for the ultimatum deadline to pass, while a PiS spokesperson told PAP that Kaczy\u0144ski does not have another meeting with Morawiecki scheduled in his calendar, though it is not ruled out that such a meeting will take place.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
