An autumn trip can cost up to 600 PLN less, provided a few criteria are met. The Ministry of Sport and Tourism is launching a pilot Tourist Check to encourage Poles to travel off-season and support regions hit hardest by the drop in tourist traffic. The program will cover selected voivodeships, and the list of eligible individuals is limited.<\/p>\n
The new support does not resemble the Tourist Voucher known from pandemic times. This time, the money will not go to the beneficiary’s account, but will take the form of an electronic code that will reduce the cost of stay in selected accommodation facilities.<\/p>\n
A few years ago, the biggest challenge for the tourism industry was the pandemic. Today, the problem looks different. Eastern regions of Poland have long felt the effects of the geopolitical situation and the war in Ukraine. Although many places remain safe and attractive to tourists, the number of bookings has clearly dropped. Therefore, the Ministry of Sport and Tourism has prepared the pilot Tourist Check Program, aimed at simultaneously supporting the local economy and extending the tourist season beyond the summer months. 6 million PLN has been allocated for the implementation of the project.<\/p>\n
The program will cover stays carried out in four voivodeships.<\/p>\n
The pilot will not be available to all tourists. The ministry decided to direct support to two groups that relatively less frequently take trips out of season. Those who will be able to apply for the check are:<\/p>\n
The ministry does not rule out expanding the catalog of beneficiaries in subsequent editions of the program, but currently these criteria apply.<\/p>\n
The most important difference is the method of transferring support. The beneficiary will not receive a transfer or cash. The mechanism of the program is as follows:<\/p>\n
For example: a family holding the Large Family Card is planning an autumn weekend in Mazury. If they choose a hotel participating in the program and meet all conditions, the cost of the stay will be reduced by the value of the granted check.<\/p>\n
Originally, the ministry planned to implement the program exclusively from September to November. A few weeks later, however, the deadline was extended. Currently, according to the announcement of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, the program will be implemented from July 28 to December 21, 2026. This means that subsidies can also be used in autumn and early winter, subject to the availability of funds and the participation of a given accommodation facility in the program.<\/p>\n
Although the rules of the program are already known, recruitment for participants has not yet started. The ministry announces that details regarding the launch date of the system, the method of generating codes, the list of hotels and guesthouses, and the application procedure will be announced in a separate announcement. This means that people interested in the trip should monitor information published by the ministry.<\/p>\n
