The prosecutor’s office is conducting two investigations regarding the Southern Hospital. The first concerns fraud amounting to over half a million PLN, while the second relates to the abuse of powers by a public official. The proceedings were launched following a publication by Zero.pl, which detailed that Kacprzyk\u2014acting as the emergency department coordinator at the Southern Hospital and a KO councilor for the Warsaw district of Ursus\u2014reportedly earned 1.6 million PLN in 2025 during his specialization in anesthesiology. The report alleged that KO politicians were admitted to his ward without waiting in line and received comprehensive examinations almost immediately after registration.<\/p>\n
Prosecutor Skiba explained that testifying as a witness would allow Kacprzyk to refuse to answer questions if doing so could expose him to criminal or disciplinary liability. He noted that at this stage, it would theoretically be the first interrogation but not the last, and the number of threads requires multiple dates while the witness and his defense counsel would already learn the investigative knowledge possessed by authorities.<\/p>\n
He explained that the prosecution is currently analyzing worked hours, times, and the doctor’s whereabouts during declared working times not only at the Southern Hospital but also at other locations, including hospitals, universities, and offices.<\/p>\n
Prosecutor Skiba emphasized that the question of when to conduct the interrogation should be treated not as a matter of expectations regarding deadlines, but of conditions. He noted these conditions have not yet materialized, though they will happen sooner than everyone thinks and later than everyone expects.<\/p>\n
He underlined that media narratives and public expectation point toward prosecuting authorities questioning Dawid Kacprzyk as a suspect. However, he explained that to interrogate someone in that capacity, the evidentiary material must be gathered and analyzed sufficiently to issue a decision on presenting charges. At this stage, the verification of evidence does not permit charging anyone, as charges must be tailored precisely and never prematurely.<\/p>\n
The spokesperson for the Warsaw District Prosecutor’s Office added that within both investigations\u2014conducted by both prosecutors and the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau (CBA)\u2014several dozen witnesses, totaling nearly forty, have already been questioned.
