Iranian state media reported that explosions were heard in Ahvaz, the capital of Khuzestan province in the country’s southwest, and in towns on Iran’s southern coast along the Gulf of Oman near the Strait of Hormuz. Axios reported that the US used a B-1 long-range bomber for the first time on Tuesday to strike targets belonging to the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The B-1 took off from an air base in the United Kingdom and was spotted on flight-tracking websites.<\/p>\n
B-1 bombers are capable of flying at supersonic speeds at low altitudes while carrying the largest bomb payload of any bomber type. They can transport up to 24 bombs with a total weight exceeding 900 kg or dozens of cruise missiles.<\/p>\n
The use of this type of aircraft signifies an escalation and expansion of US military operations, the American portal assessed.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Politico reports that Donald Trump is losing support from his most loyal voters within the MAGA movement. Currently, more than a third of supporters from this group believe that the war with Iran is worth the costs incurred, whereas in May that percentage was half.<\/p>\n
The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced on Thursday that it has the right to shell US armed forces facilities in Jordan. US military installations in this country and others had previously been used to launch attacks on Tehran.<\/p>\n
The IRGC informed the Jordanian people in a statement that its “brothers from the Revolutionary Guard” destroyed an American THAAD missile defense radar, a Patriot air defense system, a C-RAM radar, fuel tanks, and helicopter maintenance facilities at a US base, the Tasnim agency reported.<\/p>\n
The Corps assured that it respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Jordan, but emphasized that American bases on the territory of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan are “occupied” territory controlled by Washington.<\/p>\n
We have the right arising from religion, logic, and legal regulations to attack the aggressor and murderer of our children, regardless of where they launch attacks from, the IRGC stated.<\/p>\n
An analogous message was directed at the authorities of Kuwait, according to the independent immigrant portal Iran International. The IRGC announced on Thursday that it attacked three military bases in that country, hitting weapons and fuel depots as well as a Patriot air defense system. The attacks\u2014the IRGC conveyed\u2014were carried out “in response to the ongoing arrogance and aggression of the enemy towards (Iran).”<\/p>\n
The Corps reported that American soldiers were killed or wounded as a result of the attack. “It is America that violated your territorial integrity and sovereignty, not us,” the IRGC stated, addressing the Kuwaiti side. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard repeated the argument that it is attacking “territory occupied by the American military.”<\/p>\n
The Iranian army also announced that its retaliatory actions are entering a new phase and warned that it may adopt a new strategy if the United States continues its attacks.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti army reported that it is intercepting drones launched from Iran, and state-sponsored Yemeni Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for an attack on two Saudi tankers in the Red Sea.<\/p>\n
