Students from Wroc\u0142aw have developed RentFriends, a new mobile application that uses artificial intelligence and swipe mechanics to help young people find housing and compatible roommates. <\/p>\n
Finding an apartment that matches a budget and preferences, as well as finding a compatible roommate, can be a huge challenge for many students and young people. The new RentFriends application, created by students from Wroc\u0142aw, aims to address these problems by using intelligent artificial intelligence algorithms and popular profile-swiping mechanics to connect apartment seekers with ideal living partners.<\/p>\n
The application was created by Aleksandra Kaziniec, Marvin Ruci\u0144ski, and Julia \u0141opata, students at the Faculty of Management of the Wroc\u0142aw University of Science and Technology, along with Zuzanna Nowak, who studies at the DSW Ideis University in Wroc\u0142aw. The idea came from combining two independent solutions developed during the Grow Up Tech pre-incubation program organized by the Academic Incubator of Entrepreneurship of the Wroc\u0142aw University of Science and Technology, Andrzej Charytoniuk from the press office of the Wroc\u0142aw University of Science and Technology reported on Thursday.<\/p>\n
RentFriends uses swipe-type mechanics that allow users to quickly browse through profiles of potential roommates as well as offers for available rooms and apartments. During profile registration, users complete a short lifestyle questionnaire covering crucial issues such as preferred cleanliness levels, sleep schedules, and hosting friends.<\/p>\n
Aleksandra Kaziniec emphasized that artificial intelligence plays a significant role in the application’s operation by helping to automatically generate listings from pasted descriptions. AI also analyzes profiles to calculate a compatibility score that will show users their percentage match with others.<\/p>\n
The RentFriends application is already active in Wroc\u0142aw, and its creators are working on implementing it in other university cities.
