Only after the completion of a multi-hour firefighting operation was the full scale of the destruction visible. Extensive ashes remained of the hall housing workshops and car showrooms.<\/p>\n
The fire broke out on July 23, just after 5:00 AM. The fire developed extremely quickly, and within just a dozen or so minutes, the flames engulfed practically the entire facility along with its equipment and the vehicles inside.<\/p>\n
Clouds of thick smoke billowed over Targ\u00f3wek, visible from many kilometers away. Due to the area engulfed by fire and the scale of the threat, successive fire brigades and resources were directed to the scene.<\/p>\n
At its peak, 196 firefighters fought the blaze, with a total of 67 fire vehicles participating in the operations. Rescuers applied water streams for many hours, defended neighboring facilities against the spread of the fire, and subsequently extinguished the smoldering site and checked successive parts of the hall.<\/p>\n
Inside the facility were workshops, service points, and car showrooms. Up to several dozen vehicles may have burned, including new and used cars intended for sale, as well as customer vehicles left at services for repair or inspection.<\/p>\n
The fire also destroyed workshop equipment, devices, tools, and other property inside the building. Material losses are huge, though their exact value has not yet been estimated, and establishing the full balance may take time due to the necessity of preparing detailed documentation and inspecting the ruins.<\/p>\n
Currently, the incident area is secured against unauthorized access and guarded by police officers. Further activities will be conducted at the site to help determine the starting point and cause of the fire.<\/p>\n
