The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issues first-degree heat warnings for large parts of Poland as maximum temperatures are forecast to exceed 30 degrees Celsius this weekend. <\/p>\n
Heat warnings cover the entire \u0141\u00f3d\u017a, Lower Silesian, Opole, Silesian, and \u015awi\u0119tokrzyskie voivodeships, as well as prevailing parts of Lesser Poland, Greater Poland, Lubusz, and Masovian voivodeships. They also apply to the western part of the Lublin voivodeship, the southern part of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian voivodeship, and the northwestern part of the Subcarpathian voivodeship.<\/p>\n
Within the areas under the warnings, the maximum temperature may exceed 30 degrees Celsius. The alerts will become effective on Sunday at 12:00 PM and remain in place until 7:00 PM.<\/p>\n
First-degree meteorological warnings anticipate dangerous weather phenomena that can cause material damage as well as delays in road and rail traffic.<\/p>\n

The maximum temperature will range from 21 and 22 degrees Celsius in the northeast, east, and on the coast, as well as locally in foothill areas, to about 24 degrees Celsius in the center, and up to 29 degrees Celsius in the west. The wind is to be weak, occasionally moderate, from western directions.<\/p>\n
At night, cloud cover will be small to moderate, increasing to large only in the northwest and north in places with the possibility of weak, passing rain showers towards morning. The minimum temperature across most of the country will range from 12 to 15 degrees Celsius, being cooler locally in Lesser Poland and the \u015awi\u0119tokrzyskie region at 10 to 11 degrees Celsius, and warmer in the northern and northwestern extremes at 16 to 17 degrees Celsius. The wind will be weak, occasionally moderate and gusty, especially on the eastern coast and in foothill areas, from southern directions. High in the Sudetes, wind gusts may reach up to 65 km\/h, and in the Carpathians up to 55 km\/h.<\/p>\n
On Sunday, cloud cover in the southeast and east will be small and moderate, while in the remaining area it will be moderate, gradually increasing from the west to large. In places in the north and west, especially in the second half of the day, there will be passing rain showers and thunderstorms. Precipitation amounts during thunderstorms may reach up to 15 mm. The maximum temperature will range from 25 to 30 degrees Celsius, being cooler by the sea at 20 to 23 degrees Celsius. The wind will be weak and moderate, occasionally gusty, in the Carpathian foothill areas with gusts up to 60 km\/h, initially southern and southwesterly, later gradually turning northwesterly from the northwest.
