Two children aged 9 and 11 died and five other people were injured on Saturday after a Peugeot veered into the oncoming lane on National Road 74, triggering a multi-vehicle crash. <\/p>\n
Junior Aspirant Mateusz Pili\u0144ski from the Voivodeship Police Headquarters Press Office in \u0141\u00f3d\u017a reported on Saturday that two children aged 9 and 11 died as a result of the accident. The General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) in \u0141odzi added that five other people were also injured.<\/p>\n
According to Pili\u0144ski, the driver of a Peugeot traveling along National Road 74 from Piotrk\u00f3w toward Kielce drifted into the opposite lane for undetermined reasons, colliding head-on with a Toyota before striking a Nissan. Despite resuscitation efforts, the two children aged 9 and 11 traveling in the Peugeot died at the scene.<\/p>\n
Five other people were injured in the incident, and rescue workers and police officers continue to work at the scene under the supervision of a prosecutor to clarify the circumstances of the crash.<\/p>\n
The duty officer for the GDDKiA Road Information Point in \u0141odzi stated that the accident occurred on Saturday at around 18:30, and the route between Sulej\u00f3w and Parady\u017c could remain blocked until midnight.<\/p>\n
Pili\u0144ski noted that the road is blocked in both directions, though police have implemented detours.<\/p>\n
