The dangerous incident took place on July 21 at 14:25. A six-year-old boy strayed from his mother, deviated from the trail, and fell into one of the hundreds of crevices located on Szczeliniec Wielki.<\/p>\n
The boy fell about eight meters and stopped on a boulder. Upon arrival, rescuers set up an anchor point and descended to the child. They also had to secure the rock he was lying on to prevent the boy from falling deeper, as the crevice was up to 15 meters deep, explains Mariusz Grudzie\u0144, head of the GOPR Sudety group, in an interview with Gazeta.pl.<\/p>\n
When rescuers found the child, the boy was bruised and had scratches on his body, but suffered no serious injuries. He was very frightened. The characteristics of the crevice probably protected him from greater injuries, as the child must have bounced off the edges rather than experiencing a free fall, says Mariusz Grudzie\u0144.<\/p>\n
The rescue operation involved attaching the child to ropes and placing him in a vacuum mattress, with assistance from firefighters from Radk\u00f3w, Nowa Ruda, Kudowa-Zdr\u00f3j, and K\u0142odzko. The child was transported to Kar\u0142\u00f3w and handed over to the Emergency Medical Team.<\/p>\n
