Poland braces for a severe heatwave starting Thursday, with temperatures peaking at up to 40 degrees Celsius in early August before cooler conditions finally arrive. <\/p>\n
According to the numerical model of the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF HRES), lower temperatures will persist in Poland until Tuesday, July 28, before rising to 30 degrees the following day. Heatwaves will occur in Germany and the Czech Republic, and on Thursday they will also encompass Poland.<\/p>\n

Temperatures on Thursday will mostly range from 30 to 34 degrees, according to a 10-day forecast by the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW). The exceptions will be areas around the Lubusz and Lower Silesian voivodeships, where thermometers may indicate up to 37 degrees. It will be cooler in Pomerania and Podlasie (around 28 degrees), in the Lublin voivodeship (27 degrees), and in the mountains (25 degrees).<\/p>\n
The following day, the heat will reach the Lublin voivodeship (33 degrees) and Podlasie (33 degrees), but in the West Pomeranian and Lubusz voivodeships, the temperature will drop to 25-29 degrees. Saturday will bring heat to the south of the country and a cooling in the north and central Poland. In the south, the temperature will reach up to 34 degrees (in the Lesser Poland voivodeship). On Sunday, the heat will also cover the Masovian and \u0141\u00f3d\u017a voivodeships, where thermometers will indicate 31 degrees.<\/p>\n
The new week will begin with heatwaves throughout the country. It will be cooler only in places in Pomerania, the mountains, and the northern counties of the Podlasie voivodeship. The further south, the higher the temperature will be. In the Silesian, Opole, and Lower Silesian voivodeships, thermometers may indicate up to 38 degrees, and on Tuesday the heat there will increase to 39 degrees.<\/p>\n
The last heatwave?<\/p>\n
The apogee will occur on Wednesday, August 5. IMGW forecasters expect that the temperature in the Masovian, Silesian, and Opole voivodeships will reach 40 degrees Celsius. It will be similar in the Lublin, Lesser Poland, Subcarpathian, and \u015awi\u0119tokrzyskie voivodeships, where thermometers will indicate 38-39 degrees. In the remaining area, the heat will be 32-34 degrees. The coolest on this day will be in Pomerania (28-29 degrees) and in the mountains (29 degrees).<\/p>\n
