Law and Justice has barred Jacek Kurski from media appearances and referred his recent broadcast remarks to the party’s ethics committee following a direct verbal assault on Mateusz Morawiecki. <\/p>\n
PiS spokesperson Rafa\u0142 Bochenek announced on Tuesday, July 28, that Jacek Kurski’s case regarding his television appearance has been referred to the party’s Ethics Committee. Consequently, the politician has received a ban on media appearances.<\/p>\n
The controversy stems from Kurski’s appearance on Sunday, July 26, on the Telewizja Republika program Wysokie Napi\u0119cie. The former TVP president claimed that Morawiecki is trying to break up Law and Justice on Donald Tusk’s orders.<\/p>\n
Late last year, tensions surrounding Kurski led some party members to collect signatures for a motion to expel him from PiS. The friction began when the former TVP head criticized Morawiecki for an interview given to Gazeta.pl, accusing him of errors in climate policy and disloyalty to Jaros\u0142aw Kaczy\u0144ski.<\/p>\n
During that earlier period, Kurski argued that Morawiecki had a problem with Smolensk for allegedly refusing to join Lech Kaczy\u0144ski’s National Development Council before the catastrophe, only to later become an advisor in Donald Tusk’s government.<\/p>\n
During a Monday press conference, Donald Tusk addressed the allegations leveled against Morawiecki by PiS figures. The prime minister stated he learned from certain Law and Justice politicians that Morawiecki is supposedly his agent and a German agent, adding that he never expected matters to go this far.<\/p>\n
The head of government noted regarding the split within PiS that there is no reason to rejoice over the turmoil facing the largest opposition party. He emphasized that everyone would prefer politics to function differently.<\/p>\n
Mateusz Morawiecki stated he is glad Kurski has become the face of PiS based on internet reactions, while maintaining he was previously opposed to Kurski during his tenure as head of Telewizja Polska under the sole patronage of Jaros\u0142aw Kaczy\u0144ski.<\/p>\n
The central point of contention within PiS has been Morawiecki’s Rozw\u00f3j Plus association, which Jaros\u0142aw Kaczy\u0144ski warned risked splitting the party.
