Former Polish minister Adam Bodnar suggests that fugitive former deputy justice minister Marcin Romanowski may be hiding in an Opus Dei monastery in Serbia outside EU jurisdiction. <\/p>\n

Adam Bodnar admitted that locating the former deputy justice minister is among the most difficult tasks currently facing Polish services.<\/p>\n
Bodnar stated that Romanowski may be hiding in an Opus Dei monastery in Serbia, noting that the PiS politician could still be under the protection of the church organization with which he was associated long before starting his political career. The former minister pointed out the specific nature of Opus Dei supernumeraries’ lives, which by design take place in seclusion, and suspects a church organization could provide him protection, though he added these are only his suppositions.<\/p>\n
The politician also indicated in “DGP” that Romanowski is most likely not on European Union territory, noting suggestions place him in Serbia beyond the reach of the European Arrest Warrant.<\/p>\n
The former deputy justice minister faces charges in an investigation concerning irregularities in the Justice Fund, and a European Arrest Warrant has been issued against him, while the politician rejects the charges as politically motivated.
