Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that a Russian missile crossed into Polish airspace during a massive overnight aerial attack involving dozens of missiles and drones. <\/p>\n
“Russia’s missile invasion of Poland also serves as a reminder that there is nothing more urgent for our countries than fighting our common, age-old enemy, which poses a direct threat to both our nations. All other disputes must be set aside during this brutal war,” Sybiha added.<\/p>\n
He emphasized that “this is another clear proof that strengthening Ukrainian air defense is currently an urgent matter and a guarantee of protecting the entire Euro-Atlantic community.” “We call for a decisive international response, increased support for Ukraine, and greater pressure on the aggressor. The cost of continuing this war for Putin must significantly outweigh the cost of ending it,” the Ukrainian Foreign Minister noted.<\/p>\n
Sybiha also added that Russia used 74 missiles and hundreds of drones in the overnight attack on Ukraine. The attacks killed at least 13 people, including two children.<\/p>\n

Earlier on Thursday, the Operational Command of the Armed Forces reported that an unidentified object was detected in Polish airspace at 3:40 AM. An F-16 fighter jet was dispatched to identify and intercept it. At 3:46 AM, the object disappeared from radar system indications. The Armed Forces Operational Command stated that a helicopter crew localized the probable crash site of the object in a non-residential area near the village of Tarnawa-Kolonia in the Lublin Voivodeship.<\/p>\n
Captain Tomasz Stachyra, spokesperson for the Lublin provincial commander of the State Fire Service, informed that firefighters are securing a crater in the village of Tarnawa-Kolonia. The crater has a diameter of about 10 meters.<\/p>\n
Due to Russian air attacks on Ukraine, an early warning system was activated in Lublin and several other areas of the Lublin Voivodeship. In Lublin, sirens sounded on Thursday at around 3:50 AM. After a few minutes, the alert was cancelled. Alarm sirens were also activated in Krasnystaw.<\/p>\n
Minister of National Defense W\u0142adys\u0142aw Kosiniak-Kamysz commented on the incident. “An extremely difficult night for our air defense, observation, and threat detection systems,” the Deputy Prime Minister stated. “Information was continuously transmitted and coordinated by the appropriate services, and also reached the most important people in our country. Work is now underway to clarify what type of object fell in the vicinity of Tarnawa-Kolonia,” he added.<\/p>\n
