The verdict is not final.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement took place on Friday before the Regional Court in Rzesz\u00f3w, nearly 28 years after the high-profile murder of 17-year-old Iwona Cygan in 1998 in Szczucin, located in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship. The trial lasted eight years, having begun in June 2018.<\/p>\n<h4>Seventeen Defendants on Trial Including Former Police Officers<\/h4>\n<p>A total of 17 individuals were accused in the case, including 14 retired and former police officers. The main defendant is Pawe\u0142 K., whom the prosecutor charged with murder with particular cruelty, while his father J\u00f3zef K. was charged with complicity.
