He argued that no resolutions or global forums will advance humanity if the world lacks the courage to condemn those who murdered women and children, both after 1945 and today in the 21st century, concluding his speech with “Long live Poland.”<\/p>\n
The Wola massacre took place during the first days of the Warsaw Uprising and remains the most severe example of mass murder committed during the conflict, with casualty estimates ranging between 30,000 and 65,000 people. Heinrich Himmler ordered all individuals to be killed, buildings torched, and no prisoners taken, with the notorious SS Dirlewanger division, comprised of criminals, participating in the pacification.<\/p>\n
General von dem Bach-Zalewski, one of the massacre commanders, received a minor post-war sentence not related to crimes committed in Poland.
