Former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki revealed details about the Rozw\u00f3j Plus association’s upcoming October convention and addressed internal divisions within PiS during a televised interview. <\/p>\n
On Friday, July 31, the Development + Us event took place, marking the long-awaited meeting between the Rozw\u00f3j Plus association and supporters of its initiative. The event and the association itself sparked an internal conflict within Law and Justice (PiS), which ultimately resulted in a split into two parliamentary clubs.<\/p>\n
Mateusz Morawiecki discussed the Friday gathering during the program Good Evening Poland on Polsat News. When asked about the event’s funding, the former prime minister stated that it was covered by the association’s membership fees, as the gathering was carried out as part of the social activities of the association’s members.<\/p>\n
He also stated that Friday’s event was not a bone of contention between him and the PiS leadership. He noted that the picnic featured people from various sides of the barricade, including a majority of younger individuals, older people, participants from local Poland, smaller towns, villages, agglomerations, employees, and entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n
The politician reported that the association already has hundreds of members, with thousands interested in joining. He explained that Rozw\u00f3j Plus is intended for those who were ready to vote for the United Right government when its popularity reached 45 percent, noting that current support stands at around 25 percent.<\/p>\n
He added that the association’s proposals will also be directed at those disappointed with the Third Way and the Coalition, as well as those who answer in election polls that they do not know who to vote for. Journalists also asked Morawiecki when he would establish a new party, to which he replied that no decision has been made yet within their parliamentary club.<\/p>\n
The former prime minister announced that a grand convention of the Rozw\u00f3j Plus association will take place on October 15.
