Warsaw Mayor Rafa\u0142 Trzaskowski informed on Monday, August 3, that an audit commissioned in connection with publications by the Zero portal\u2014which detailed the case of doctor and former Civic Coalition (KO) councilman Dawid Kacprzyk\u2014has reached his desk.<\/p>\n
Portal journalists established that, among other things, Civic Coalition politicians were allegedly admitted without waiting in line at Kacprzyk’s ward, receiving comprehensive examinations almost immediately after registration.<\/p>\n
Trzaskowski stated he will review the document and likely present its conclusions and recommendations on Wednesday, emphasizing that all city hall conclusions will be made public and noting that audits have also been ordered for emergency departments and morgues in other municipal hospitals.<\/p>\n
Dawid Kacprzyk, serving as the emergency department coordinator at Southern Hospital and an Ursus district KO councilman, reportedly earned 1.6 million zlotys last year during his anesthesiology specialization. Two investigations were launched into Southern Hospital on Monday: the first concerning fraud exceeding half a million zlotys, and the second regarding abuse of powers by a public official.<\/p>\n
Proceedings by the Supreme Medical Chamber are also underway. Kacprzyk resigned from KO and his Ursus district mandate, and returned half a million zlotys of the paid funds to the hospital. The Warsaw mayor dismissed the hospital’s management board and supervisory council, while two deputy mayors submitted their resignations.<\/p>\n
The National Health Fund (NFZ) is currently conducting controls in municipal hospitals. Aside from municipal officials, prosecutors, and NFZ staff, the State Labour Inspectorate (PIP) will also examine the facility.<\/p>\n
The Supreme Audit Office (NIK) published its hospital inspection report, indicating numerous irregularities in facility management, work organization, NFZ settlement of benefits, and the allocation of hospital rooms. NIK’s reservations included the organization of medical personnel work leading to workload overload and inappropriate management of hospital-owned medical equipment.<\/p>\n
Fourteen party members sat on municipal company management boards, all of whom Trzaskowski reported have resigned from their party membership. Out of 27 supervisory council members, seven resigned from party membership while 20 remained in the party and resigned from their seats on the councils.<\/p>\n
In late June, tied to the Southern Hospital scandal, the city mayor decided that politicians should not sit on municipal company management and supervisory boards, giving them until the end of July to resign either from party membership or municipal company seats. Trzaskowski had previously removed all politicians from municipal medical company boards and councils.<\/p>\n
