Police officers found the body of a 53-year-old woman over the weekend during a police assistance operation provided at the entrance to an apartment, with the corpse already in an advanced stage of decomposition. The perpetrator had placed the remains inside a large shopping bag.<\/p>\n
Prosecutor Piotr Skiba added that officers were assisting the former partner of the apartment owner on S\u0142upecka Street in Old Ochota. The owner had reportedly told the woman not to come to his home because something bad had happened inside.<\/p>\n
This information explains why authorities quickly apprehended the 32-year-old man suspected of committing the murder, whom investigators questioned on Monday. The suspect confessed to committing the prohibited act.<\/p>\n
Prosecutor Skiba explained that determining the exact date of death was difficult due to the advanced stage of body decomposition. Monday’s autopsy also failed to identify to whom the body belongs, and authorities will further determine this through DNA testing while also verifying the list of individuals staying at the sobering-out station during that period.<\/p>\n
The autopsy revealed the cause of the woman’s death, with the prosecutor describing that multi-organ injuries, fractured chest bones, and chest area injuries were identified. The perpetrator struck the victim with his hands in the chest and face areas, thereby causing her death.<\/p>\n
Consequently, he was charged with intentional causing of death under Article 148, paragraph 1 of the Penal Code, facing between 10 and 30 years of imprisonment.
