A collision between a Ford and a Fiat on DK79 in Piaseczno on Wednesday afternoon left a 79-year-old female driver injured and hospitalised, causing major traffic disruptions. <\/p>\n
On Wednesday, August 5, a collision involving a Ford and a Fiat occurred at the intersection of Armii Krajowej and Ksi\u0119cia Janusza I Starego streets in Piaseczno. A 79-year-old female driver of one of the cars was transported to the hospital, while the intersection was partially blocked with firefighters directing traffic in alternating patterns.<\/p>\n
Emergency services received the report of the incident at 13:09. Both vehicles were traveling on national road No. 79 from opposite directions.<\/p>\n
Initial findings indicate that the 35-year-old female driver of the Ford was traveling from the direction of G\u00f3ra Kalwaria and intended to turn left onto Ksi\u0119cia Janusza I Starego street. During the maneuver, she reportedly failed to yield the right-of-way to the 79-year-old female driver of the Fiat, who was approaching from Warsaw and traveling straight toward G\u00f3ra Kalwaria, resulting in the collision.<\/p>\n
Fire department units, police, and an emergency medical team were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters secured the area and the vehicles involved before beginning to direct traffic alternately once rescue operations concluded.<\/p>\n
The 35-year-old driver of the Ford was sober and possessed the required driving qualifications, while the Fiat driver also held a valid driver’s license. Due to her injuries, the 79-year-old was not breathalyzed at the scene and was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where blood samples will be drawn to test for alcohol.<\/p>\n
