Polish State Railways released footage showing an electric scooter rider ignoring a red light and bypassing half-closed gates to narrowly avoid an oncoming train in Bo\u017ca Wola. <\/p>\n
“Inattention, bravado, and carelessness are a direct recipe for losing your health, and in extreme cases, even your life,” begins a post by the Polskie Linie Kolejowe company. It attaches a video showing a boy riding an electric scooter who ignored a red light and bypassed semi-closed gates. At the very last moment, a few dozen centimeters before the oncoming Koleje Mazowieckie train, he managed to brake.<\/p>\n
The incident took place in Bo\u017ca Wola between Sochaczew and B\u0142onie. The camera recorded it on the afternoon of June 26. Railway workers wrote about the scooter rider: “In this case, he had more luck than brains, because it ended with nothing more than elevated blood pressure. A stronger gust of wind from the passing train or contact with a protruding element would have been enough for a tragedy to occur.”<\/p>\n
PKP PLK reminds and warns: “The braking distance of a speeding train can be up to a kilometer. Do not check if you will make it. Stop, wait patiently. The fact that you are young does not mean you are immortal. No one stands a chance against a train.”<\/p>\n
Accidents caused by inattentive scooter drivers have repeatedly ended in tragedy. For example, at the beginning of September last year, two men traveling on a single scooter in B\u0142onie near Warsaw drove straight into an oncoming truck. Both men died.<\/p>\n
