A new United Surveys poll shows a 56 percent positive rating for Polish President Karol Nawrocki after his first year in office, though public opinion remains sharply polarized along political lines. <\/p>\n
A United Surveys by IBRiS poll commissioned by Wirtualna Polska shows that the majority of respondents evaluate this time well. A total of 56 percent of respondents view Karol Nawrocki’s presidency positively, with 33 percent choosing “definitely positive” and 23 percent “rather positive.” Meanwhile, 40.5 percent of Poles rate his term negatively, including 29.7 percent who consider it definitely negative and 10.8 percent rather negative, while only 3.5 percent have no opinion.<\/p>\n
Detailed analysis reveals deep polarization. None of the voters from the ruling camp rated him as definitely positive, and only 7 percent view his presidency as rather favorable. In contrast, as many as 89 percent of the ruling coalition’s supporters hold a negative view, with 77 percent rating him definitely negative and 12 percent rather negative.<\/p>\n
The situation looks entirely different on the opposition side, which almost unanimously supports the president, as a total of 94 percent of its sympathizers view him positively. However, Nawrocki receives the highest and most uniform support from voters of both Confederation factions, where up to 97 percent of surveyed individuals rate him positively.<\/p>\n
Among other voters, 58 percent gave positive marks and 36 percent gave negative ones. The poll was conducted on July 24-25 using CAWI and CATI methods on a sample of 1,000 adult Poles.<\/p>\n
A similar, though slightly less favorable picture for the president, was shown by an earlier Pollster Research Institute poll commissioned by “Super Express” and conducted on July 16-17 among 1,021 people. It indicated that 47 percent of Poles rate Nawrocki’s first year as president as good, 43 percent as bad, and 10 percent had no opinion.<\/p>\n
Political marketing specialist Sergiusz Trzeciak commented at the time that support for the president surpasses PiS ratings, which he suggests may indicate winning the trust of right-wing voters overall.
