The supplementary allowance is not granted to all pension recipients. The legislator provided it exclusively for persons receiving a social pension who are simultaneously completely incapable of work and unable to live independently. It is precisely these two prerequisites that must be met jointly. Merely holding a certificate of a significant degree of disability does not give the right to the benefit. ZUS relies on the certificate issued for pension purposes. The right to the allowance is granted to persons who:<\/p>\n

This means that a person meeting the statutory conditions receives a total of 4,683.20 PLN gross per month. In the case of proceedings conducted upon application, ZUS issues a decision within 30 days from the clarification of the last circumstance necessary to resolve the matter. This does not always mean 30 days from the date of submitting documents. If it is necessary to conduct an examination by a certifying physician or to supplement medical documentation, the deadline is counted from the completion of these activities. Therefore, the waiting time may vary depending on the individual situation of the person applying for the benefit.<\/p>\n
The supplementary allowance is linked to the social pension. This means that in specific situations related to achieving revenues, its payment may be reduced or suspended in accordance with the rules applicable to the social pension. Before undertaking employment, it is worth checking the current limits applicable in ZUS, because exceeding them may affect the amount of the paid benefit.<\/p>\n
