Speaking to Dziennik Gazeta Prawna in late July, former Justice Minister and Prosecutor General Adam Bodnar stated that given Marcin Romanowski’s prior affiliation with Opus Dei, he finds it hard to imagine the organization would abandon him. Bodnar added that he suspects a church organization could provide him with protection.<\/p>\n
Bodnar observed that Romanowski is likely outside the territory of the European Union and thus beyond the reach of the European Arrest Warrant. He assumed Romanowski might be in a monastery, noting that supernumeraries in Opus Dei live in a kind of monastic cell which, while not technically a monastery, functions as a solitary place of seclusion. He emphasized that these were solely his suppositions.<\/p>\n
In response to inquiries from the publication Fakt, Opus Dei stated that Marcin Romanowski is not staying at any of their centers and that the Prelature’s authorities have no information regarding his whereabouts.
