Prime Minister Donald Tusk has appointed Prof. Barbara Mr\u00f3z-Gorgo\u0144 as the government plenipotentiary for the promotion of the Polish brand and established a dedicated council to unify scattered state funds. <\/p>\n
At the end of July, Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that Prof. Barbara Mr\u00f3z-Gorgo\u0144, associated with the Wroc\u0142aw University of Economics, would serve as the government plenipotentiary for the promotion of the Polish brand. Formally, the expert will hold the position of secretary or undersecretary of state in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.<\/p>\n
Prime Minister Donald Tusk explained that it is absolutely necessary to bundle the efforts of various government institutions and ministries, noting that while everyone tries their best to promote tourism, the country’s image, brands, actions, and history, a cohesive image does not result from these scattered efforts.<\/p>\n
Pointing to international examples such as the Swiss watch, the head of government stated that instead of adding a single penny more, the state will focus dispersed and inefficiently managed streams of money into a single program to ensure cohesive promotion of the country’s brand.<\/p>\n
Donald Tusk conveyed that one of the new plenipotentiary’s tasks is to ensure that entities entering Poland with substantial capital actively want to cooperate with Polish companies rather than being forced to do so.<\/p>\n
Prof. Barbara Mr\u00f3z-Gorgo\u0144 emphasized during a joint conference with the Prime Minister that Poland deserves a single common narrative based on its successes so the world can recognize its achievements. She explained that the Polish brand belongs to businesses, entrepreneurs, artists, cultural figures, athletes, scientists, local governments, and millions of Polish women and men both at home and abroad.<\/p>\n
The expert underscored that a strong national brand brings real benefits, including increased investment, international recognition for Polish brands, products, and companies, and greater clout in international relations.<\/p>\n
According to regulations on the remuneration of state executive positions, Prof. Barbara Mr\u00f3z-Gorgo\u0144 will earn approximately 17,300 PLN gross as a secretary or undersecretary of state in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.<\/p>\n
The appointment of the plenipotentiary is accompanied by a new ordinance published in Monitor Polski regarding the establishment of the Council for the Promotion of the Polish Brand, which will be chaired by Prof. Barbara Mr\u00f3z-Gorgo\u0144.<\/p>\n
The council’s tasks will include identifying the values and position of the Polish brand, formulating opinions and recommendations for building and promoting the brand alongside crisis communication rules, and analyzing risks concerning the brand’s position and value.<\/p>\n
The council will comprise three representatives each from the Ministry of State Assets, Ministry of Finance and Economy, Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Ministry of Sport and Tourism, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, alongside representatives of the Senate, local governments, business and employer organizations, non-governmental organizations, and scientific communities.<\/p>\n
