Ernest Z. is suspected of acting in Lower Silesia and Greater Poland to achieve financial gain while serving as an attorney, leading bank employees, insurers, and bailiffs to unfavorable property management, according to Prosecutor Anna Zimol\u0105g from the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Wroc\u0142aw.<\/p>\n
Investigators state that the suspect misled victims by claiming he held authorization to collect funds owed to his clients across various proceedings. Investigators concluded that through fraudulent maneuvers, he convinced them he had the right to receive money owed to his clients directly into his account.<\/p>\n
The funds ultimately ended up in his pocket rather than the accounts of his principals. During the investigation, authorities determined that over half a million zlotys reached the attorney’s account through this method.<\/p>\n
Investigators also believe that Ernest Z. acted alongside other individuals. Charges include instructing others to forge powers of attorney provided by clients by modifying their content to imply authorization to collect receivables, and subsequently presenting these forged documents in banks, courts, bailiff offices, and insurance companies.<\/p>\n
Ernest Z. has been detained, and the prosecutor’s office presented him with charges covering 10 offenses to the detriment of 21 victims. He faces up to 12 years in prison because it was determined he made the practice a steady source of income, with investigators filing for a 3-month temporary arrest.<\/p>\n
