The prosecutor’s office has not yet established how the woman died. The circumstances of her death will be clarified by the ongoing proceedings, and investigators are still awaiting the results of an autopsy to be conducted in Bydgoszcz.<\/p>\n
Jowita Zieli\u0144ska lived in Lisiny in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship with her late husband’s parents. On July 6, 2024, at around 5:00 AM, she rode her bicycle to work at a meat shop in Rypin, and witnesses last saw her on her way back home, with surveillance footage showing her entering a nearby forest.<\/p>\n
Her loved ones reported her disappearance the same day, prompting police, firefighters, dog handlers, drone operators, and hundreds of residents to search the area without success. On August 10, 2024, police found her bicycle in a forest near the village of Wierzchowiska, about four kilometers from where she was last seen, alongside a distinctive necklace engraved with her late husband’s name.<\/p>\n
