Zakharova also referenced Nawrocki’s past tenure as director of the Museum of the Second World War in Gda\u0144sk, pointing to his reaction when musicians performed the Soviet song “Dark Night” during Museum Night in 2019.<\/p>\n
The institution explained at the time that the director’s reaction stemmed from the explicitly propagandist nature of the 1943 track “Dark Night,” which romanticized Soviet soldiers while ignoring widespread violence and plunder committed during the march to Berlin.<\/p>\n
Zakharova criticized geographic and political shifts between Poland and Russia, though bilateral relations are primarily shaped by official state policies, notably global opposition to Vladimir Putin’s imperialist ambitions in Ukraine.<\/p>\n
