\u201cBabysitting chandeliers is not for me,\u201d declared President Karol Nawrocki on Sunday in Skawina during his first meeting with residents outside Warsaw a year after his swearing-in. The head of state announced the continuation of trips across the country, the consistent implementation of promises from Plan 21, and the firm use of the veto power on issues crucial to taxpayers.<\/p>\n

Today in Skawina is my first meeting with Polish women and men outside Warsaw, a year after my swearing-in. From here, from Skawina, the message goes out to all of Poland that this second year of the presidency will be exactly the same. I will travel across Poland and meet with Poles, emphasized Nawrocki.<\/p>\n
As he said, regardless of the media asking who pays for these presidential meetings, nothing will change. The president is for Polish women and men. He must and will meet with them. And chandeliers and babysitting chandeliers are not for me, he noted, alluding to the ironic description of the presidency as a \u201cchandelier guardian.\u201d<\/p>\n
Nawrocki spoke about Poland being made up of its voivodeships, gminas, and powiats, and stated that local governments must develop. In his opinion, this succeeded during the eight years of the United Right government. He listed strategic investment programs, developing local governments, and various infrastructural solutions such as sports fields and cultural centers.<\/p>\n
He promised to do everything possible to bring back programs for Polish local governments, questioning where the funds destined for capable and developing local governments from the state budget have gone.<\/p>\n
He stressed the need to invest simultaneously in cities, powiats, entrepreneurial towns like Skawina, and metropolises to build a truly strong Poland that will serve as a local empire in coming centuries.<\/p>\n
Referring to the bills he signed and vetoed, the president noted that he feels obligated to fulfill all 21 points of his presidential Plan 21, seeing it as a vision for a secure, developing, fair, ideology-free, and sovereign country.<\/p>\n
He admitted that even if he has not fully realized the plan within a year due to difficult circumstances, he will implement it consistently every month and year as promised to the public in Skawina.<\/p>\n
He added that he promised voters to act as a safeguard where the law is broken. During his presidency, he signed 259 bills, using his signature whenever solutions were good for citizens regardless of who drafted them.<\/p>\n
Where necessary, he made the firm decision to issue a veto, such as blocking a tax increase promised during his campaign, stating he will not impose additional burdens simply because the finance minister mismanages public finances.<\/p>\n
Looking toward the 2027 elections, Nawrocki expressed hope for a parliamentary majority willing to cooperate with the president over the following three years for the development, security, and prosperity of citizens.<\/p>\n
Addressing protests concerning the new route of the S7 expressway between Krak\u00f3w and My\u015blenice, Nawrocki stated that while he cannot provide a definitive solution, the wisdom of local governments and citizens must be respected without dividing communities.<\/p>\n
