A judge of the Regional Court in Szczecin, who was driving a car while intoxicated, was detained on Sunday, August 9, at around 10:00 PM by police officers from Gryfino.<\/p>\n
The detention took place on provincial road number 120 between Gryfino and We\u0142ty\u0144, as communicated by Senior Sergeant Jakub Ku\u017amowicz from the local County Police Headquarters.<\/p>\n
He noted that the intervention was carried out by road traffic department officers. The police officer did not disclose whether it was a routine check or an action taken, for example, following an anonymous report.<\/p>\n
On Monday, August 10, the District Prosecutor’s Office in Szczecin initiated an investigation. The spokesperson for the Szczecin prosecutor’s office, Prosecutor Julia Szozda, reported that witnesses were questioned today and materials regarding the proceedings will be forwarded to the Internal Affairs Department of the National Prosecutor’s Office, confirming that the detained individual was driving under the influence.<\/p>\n
The spokesperson also explained that the man was not questioned because he is a Regional Court judge in Szczecin and is protected by immunity. An application to waive his immunity can be prepared by the National Prosecutor’s Office and will be considered by the disciplinary court at the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n
