Marcin Romanowski&#8217;s application for a safe-conduct has been submitted to the Warsaw Regional Court. According to documents and postal stamps on the envelope, the parcel containing the letter from the suspect in the Justice Fund investigation was mailed in Tiraspol, the capital of the separatist and unrecognized state of Transnistria.<\/p>\n<p>The Warsaw Regional Court&#8217;s press office reported that the application for a safe-conduct regarding the former deputy minister was received on August 4. It has been registered, and the matter is currently pending.<\/p>\n<h4>Court Spokesperson Confirms Letter from Separatist Region<\/h4>\n<p>Judge Anna Ptaszek, the criminal division spokesperson for the court, confirmed that the application was submitted by Mr. Marcin Romanowski. She added that both the letter and the envelope show the shipment to the court originated in Tiraspol within Transnistria.<\/p>\n<p>Transnistria is a separatist region of Moldova that has functioned as an unrecognized state since the conflict in the early 1990s, largely due to Russian support. Information regarding Romanowski&#8217;s letter from Transnistria was previously reported unofficially on Wednesday by the RMF24 portal.<\/p>\n<h4>Justice Fund Investigation and European Arrest Warrant<\/h4>\n<p>Romanowski is a suspect in the investigation concerning the Justice Fund. Prosecutors accuse him of participating in an organized criminal group and fixing tenders using funds from this entity. The Warsaw Regional Court issued a European Arrest Warrant (EAW) for Romanowski at the request of prosecutors after authorities were unable to locate him.<\/p>\n<h4>Loss of Asylum in Hungary and Search for Former Deputy Minister<\/h4>\n<p>An arrest warrant was also issued for the former deputy minister. On December 19, 2024, it was revealed that Romanowski had obtained political asylum in Hungary. Reports in early July indicated that Hungary had revoked his refugee status and invalidated his travel documents.
