Municipal guards from Łomianki conducted an unusual intervention on Tuesday, August 11, on Zachodnia Street, where a porcupine was spotted moving near buildings and a road.

A porcupine is an exotic animal that can pose a danger to both humans and animals when threatened, showing particular activity after dark and at night. Its characteristic sharp quills are an effective form of defense, making any attempts to independently capture or scare such an animal dangerous.

Upon receiving the report, municipal guards immediately went to the scene and professionally and safely captured the animal. They then took steps to find a suitable place where it could receive proper care. Thanks to cooperation with individuals possessing appropriate knowledge and experience, the porcupine was handed over to specialists who will ensure proper conditions and continued care.

Authorities remind the public that upon encountering wild or exotic animals, individuals should not attempt to capture them on their own. The safest solution is to notify the appropriate services, which possess the necessary equipment and experience to handle such interventions.
