Warsaw prepares for the Polish Armed Forces Day parade on August 15 along Wis\u0142ostrada, bringing extensive street closures, parking restrictions, and public transit changes starting Friday. <\/p>\n
The Polish Armed Forces Day celebrations will begin at 10:00 AM with a ceremonial changing of the guard in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Because of this, parking will be prohibited starting at 6:00 AM on Kr\u00f3lewska Street from Krakowskie Przedmie\u015bcie to Marsza\u0142kowska. From 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, drivers will not be able to cross Pi\u0142sudski Square and Kr\u00f3lewska Street from Ma\u0142achowski Square to Krakowskie Przedmie\u015bcie. Tokarzewskiego-Karaszewicza Street will also be closed. Buses on lines 107, 111, 116, 128, 175, 178, 180, and 503 will run on detours.<\/p>\n
The parade will begin at 12:00 PM. On Friday, Wis\u0142ostrada will be closed from Sk\u0142odowska-Curie Bridge to Gagarina Street. Connections to Wis\u0142ostrada will be cut off from the following: the Trasa AK and the Grota-Roweckiego Bridge, Aleja \u201eSolidarno\u015bci\u201d and the \u015al\u0105sko-D\u0105browski Bridge, and the Poniatowski Bridge. From the Mokot\u00f3w side, drivers will only be able to exit Wis\u0142ostrada onto the Trasa \u0141azienkowska toward the city center or onto the \u0141azienkowski Bridge.<\/p>\n
Traffic changes will be in effect from Friday, August 14, at 4:00 PM until Saturday, August 15, at 4:00 PM. During this time, the following streets will be closed:<\/p>\n
From Friday at 8:00 PM to Saturday at 4:00 PM, the parking lot under the \u015al\u0105sko-D\u0105browski Bridge will be closed. Additionally, on Saturday from midnight to 4:00 PM, a parking ban will be in effect on the following streets: Krajewskiego, Zakroczymska, Jeziora\u0144skiego, Wened\u00f3w, Sanguszki, Bole\u015b\u0107, Mostowa, Bugaj, Karowa, Lipowa, Dobra, Wi\u015blana, G\u0119sta, and Wybrze\u017ce Ko\u015bciuszkowskie.<\/p>\n
Drivers can bypass the closed section of Wis\u0142ostrada via Modli\u0144ska and Jagiello\u0144ska streets, followed by Wybrze\u017ce Helskie, Wybrze\u017ce Szczeci\u0144skie, and Wa\u0142 Miedzeszy\u0144ski.<\/p>\n
People traveling from the direction of \u0141omianki will be directed onto Marymoncka Street, and then through S\u0142owackiego, Mickiewicza, Andersa, and Marsza\u0142kowska streets.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, between 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM, traffic will be completely halted during the aircraft flyover on:<\/p>\n
Bicycle paths along Wis\u0142ostrada from Krasi\u0144skiego Street to the \u015al\u0105sko-D\u0105browski Bridge will be closed.<\/p>\n
It will not be possible to walk or ride across Wis\u0142ostrada at Krasi\u0144skiego, Wened\u00f3w, Ludna, and \u0141azienkowska. The underground pedestrian crossing at Sanguszki Street will also be closed.<\/p>\n
From 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, pedestrians and cyclists will also be unable to use the Magdalena Abakanowicz Footbridge and the Gda\u0144ski Bridge.<\/p>\n
Following the closure of Wis\u0142ostrada and intersecting streets, meaning from Friday after 4:00 PM, the routes of bus lines 100, 106, 107, 108, 114, 118, 127, 131, 141, 159, 162, 166, 167, 185, 187, as well as night lines N14, N16, N33, N64, and N83, will change.<\/p>\n
On Saturday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, trams will run across the Gda\u0144ski Bridge but will not stop at the stations.<\/p>\n
After 11:00 AM, buses will also not stop at the Gda\u0144ski Bridge, and between 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM, they will not operate at all across the Gda\u0144ski Bridge and the \u015al\u0105sko-D\u0105browski Bridge. The routes of the following lines will change:<\/p>\n
If tram traffic is suspended on the \u015al\u0105sko-D\u0105browski and Gda\u0144ski bridges, tram routes will also change for:<\/p>\n
