On Friday, August 7, Warsaw municipal guards on ul. Międzynarodowa discovered a KIA parked in a disabled space using a crude, oversized counterfeit parking permit.

Occupying spaces reserved for people with disabilities is shameful, and using forged documents is a crime. On Friday, August 7, a female and male guard from the 7th Territorial District noticed a KIA vehicle parked in a so-called blue zone during a routine patrol of ul. Międzynarodowa.

The guards’ attention was drawn to the disability parking permit displayed in the vehicle. It was a photocopy, noticeably larger than an original document and lacking a hologram, making it evident that the driver was using a copied card. Officers called a police patrol, which confirmed their suspicions and summoned technicians from the investigative department whose work definitively proved the card was forged.

In accordance with regulations, the guards called a tow truck, and shortly after its arrival, the driver of the incorrectly parked vehicle appeared. He claimed he received the forged permit from an acquaintance and used it for convenience. The reckless driver was hit with 6 penalty points, two fines under Article 92 paragraph 1 and Article 96b of the Petty Offences Code totaling 2,000 PLN, and a 350 PLN tow truck fee. The dishonest driver was also informed of the consequences of using forged documents, and police proceedings are now underway.
