Jowita Zieli\u0144ska went missing on July 6, 2024. The 31-year-old left her home in the village of Lisiny (Rypin County, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship) and never returned. Her remains were found by passersby on July 18, though the circumstances of her death remain unknown.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, August 11, officers took local residents for questioning. “Police took three neighbors at a time into a car and drove them to Bydgoszcz to test them on a lie detector. After a few hours, they returned and took the next ones,” a resident of Lisiny told a “Fakt” reporter. Earlier, some members of Mrs. Jowita’s husband’s family underwent polygraph testing.<\/p>\n
Prosecutor Jacek Lasi\u0144ski from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Rypin confirmed to “Fakt” that investigators questioned the neighbors. “We are now waiting for expert opinions. On August 10, 2024, police found Jowita Zieli\u0144ska’s bicycle in the forest near the village of Wierzchowiska.<\/p>\n
On July 18 of this year, mushroom pickers found the woman’s remains in a forest in Lisiny, a few hundred meters from her place of residence. “The police arrived and started digging to make sure they were human remains. They dug it up, saw a bra and we didn’t see anything else,” recounted Mr. Krzysztof in TVN’s “Uwaga,” who found the remains along with his brother. The men claimed they had been mushroom picking in the same place for years, but had not noticed anything disturbing before.<\/p>\n
“Uwaga” journalists unofficially established that a necklace, a medallion with the letter of the woman’s husband’s name, and a ring were found near Mrs. Jowita’s remains, which already suggested at the time that the bones might belong to her.
