A rescue operation is currently underway at the private Eko-Plus coal mine in Bytom following an underground tremor on Wednesday that left one miner trapped and missing. <\/p>\n
One worker remains trapped underground following a tremor at the Eko-Plus mine in Bytom. Contact with the miner has not been established, and rescue teams are currently unable to reach the area due to continued seismic activity.<\/p>\n
There were nine people in the affected area when the incident occurred. Eight miners managed to evacuate to the surface on their own, while one remained behind in the gallery. The base is located over 200 meters from the worker’s last known position, 20 to 25 meters from the face.<\/p>\n
The manager of the rescue operation has suspended the deployment of teams currently waiting at the base. Officials stated that the rock mass remains active, creating ongoing hazards that prevent safe access to the gallery.<\/p>\n
While the mine management noted that the tunnel appears passable\u2014as evidenced by the eight miners who successfully evacuated\u2014the rescue teams must wait for the threat level to subside before proceeding.<\/p>\n
Three miners were examined by medical services on-site, with two subsequently transported to the hospital for observation. One sustained a head injury, while the other suffered an injury to the thigh; both are reported to be in good condition.<\/p>\n
