The State Forests and the Provincial Office for the Protection of Monuments in Gda\u0144sk reported the discovery of a bronze sword dating back roughly 2,700 years to the Bronze Age. Officials noted that in those ancient times, such a weapon would have been an incredibly expensive commodity, potentially equivalent in value to an entire herd of cattle.<\/p>\n
The artifact was discovered by Marcin Wi\u015bniewski within the jurisdiction of the Gda\u0144sk Forest District. Wi\u015bniewski, who had previously cooperated with the Provincial Conservator of Monuments on another Bronze Age find in the area, worked alongside officials to recover the sword using standard archaeological methodology.<\/p>\n
