He specifically invited Adrian Zandberg, Joanna Senyszyn, and various trade unions to join forces, arguing that a single list is a rational choice for the country.

Czarzasty noted that he shares 95 percent of his views with Zandberg, with the remaining 5 percent difference centered on their evaluation of the current government. While Czarzasty praises the coalition for its effective legislation, Zandberg remains critical, largely due to the presence of the Civic Coalition.

Historical Context of Leftist Alliances

The Razem party previously ran independently in 2015, failing to pass the electoral threshold. Their decision contributed to the fragmented vote, which ultimately aided Law and Justice (PiS) in securing a parliamentary majority.

Following this, in both 2019 and 2023, Razem joined forces with the Democratic Left Alliance (later the New Left) to enter the Sejm. However, the alliance dissolved in late 2023 when five female lawmakers left the New Left parliamentary club to form an independent caucus.

Current Stance of Leftist Factions

Despite Czarzasty’s appeal, Razem representatives maintain they intend to run independently, hoping to cross the electoral threshold on their own merit. They point to the previous presidential election, where Adrian Zandberg outperformed New Left candidate Magdalena Biejat, as evidence of their viability.

Meanwhile, Joanna Senyszyn has launched a new party called Nowa Fala. While currently building its structures, Senyszyn has not explicitly ruled out the possibility of participating in a joint leftist list.

Divergent Polling Results

Recent polling reveals a mixed landscape for the Left. A CBOS poll conducted in June placed both Razem and the New Left below the parliamentary threshold, at 4 percent and 3.9 percent, respectively.

In contrast, a United Surveys study conducted for Wp.pl presents a different outlook, showing the New Left at 7.1 percent, while Razem stands at 3.1 percent and remains below the required threshold.

Włodzimierz Czarzasty, Speaker of the Sejm and leader of the New Left, has publicly urged all leftist forces, including Razem, to form a consolidated coalition for the next parliamentary elections.
