More than 87 percent of these units failed to meet minimum architectural standards. Buildings lacked adequate ramps, elevators, and proper signage, while narrow corridors and doorways often prevented wheelchair users from maneuvering through facilities.<\/p>\n
Twelve of the 21 inspected buildings failed to provide adequate evacuation procedures for people with disabilities. Many facilities lacked specialized equipment, such as evacuation chairs or mats, and staff were not trained to assist in emergency rescues.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, eight units failed to provide clear information regarding building layouts, leaving visitors with special needs without necessary guidance on how to navigate the premises safely.<\/p>\n
The audit of 34 websites belonging to the institutions revealed that none complied with all 26 statutory digital accessibility criteria. Many sites contained graphical elements unreadable by screen software for the blind.<\/p>\n
Additional issues included a lack of audio or text descriptions for multimedia content and poor interface scaling for users with visual impairments. Over 87 percent of the units failed to meet criteria for informational and communication accessibility.<\/p>\n
Despite the failures, auditors identified positive practices, such as the active role of accessibility coordinators in promoting universal design. Some units successfully integrated accessibility goals into budget planning and strategic development documents.<\/p>\n
