Following the expiration of the government’s CPN fuel price cap program, stations across Poland have seen a sharp increase in costs, with diesel and gasoline prices rising significantly.<\/p>\n
Data from e-petrol.pl indicates a clear upward trend in fuel prices at stations after the CPN program concluded. The increase has affected all major fuel types, with the exception of autogas, which continues to see price reductions.<\/p>\n
Diesel experienced the steepest rise, increasing by 93 groszy to an average of 6.98 PLN per liter, nearing the 7 PLN threshold. Gasoline Pb95 prices also rose by 89 groszy, reaching an average of 6.79 PLN per liter.<\/p>\n
The situation remains different for the autogas market, where prices have trended downward since the end of April. Over the past week, the average price of LPG fell by 9 groszy to 3.29 PLN per liter.<\/p>\n
Some stations have even reported prices falling below the 3 PLN mark, although this remains limited to a small number of retail locations.<\/p>\n
The end of government regulations has widened the price gap between different Polish regions. Silesia currently reports the lowest prices for Pb95 gasoline and diesel, while the highest costs are found in the West Pomeranian and Kuyavian-Pomeranian voivodeships respectively.<\/p>\n
The Ministry of Finance estimated the total cost of the CPN program at approximately 4.7 billion PLN. Officials view the initiative as a success, citing its role in reducing household costs and maintaining low inflation, which stood at 2.5 percent year-on-year in June.<\/p>\n
The CPN package was introduced in late March to counter global oil price volatility caused by Middle East tensions. It included cuts to VAT and excise duties on fuels. Finance Minister Andrzej Doma\u0144ski emphasized that the measures were always intended to be temporary, noting that global oil prices have since stabilized from their peak levels.<\/p>\n
