President Karol Nawrocki has signed a new energy amendment designed to simplify electricity bills for households and streamline regulatory requirements for heating and industrial energy sectors across Poland. <\/p>\n
The amendment introduces mandatory simplifications to electricity bills for household consumers. The objective is to provide clear information on key cost components and the total amount due on the very first page of the bill.<\/p>\n
New regulations also shift the standard form of correspondence between energy companies and consumers to electronic communication, while maintaining the right for customers to request paper statements.<\/p>\n
The legislation liberalizes settlement rules for heat supplied directly to industrial facilities, removing the obligation to use regulated heating tariffs when heat is used solely for technological purposes. Additionally, the requirement for a heat generation license is waived for new sources serving industrial enterprises.<\/p>\n
The act defines thermal and cooling storage to support the electrification of heating systems. It also classifies electrode boilers as renewable sources to meet EU definitions of efficient heating systems and simplifies the calculation of investment indicators for zero-emission heat production.<\/p>\n
